Freddie's Blanket by Joanna Johnson

Have you seen this gorgeous book? I met Joanna in January at TNNA and was very excited to see her books. I had talked to her over Ravelry before since she had met some of my monsters somewhere and blah, blah, blah. After TNNA she sent Baby Danger a signed copy of Freddie's Blanket and I just fell in love with it.
Not only is the book a cute story, but it is beautifully illustrated by Joanna's husband, Eric, and completed with 5 fun knitting patterns in the back of the book that go along with the story. Look at the illustrations:

I absolutely love how you can "get involved" with the story by making parts of it yourself. What a neat concept I can't wait to share with Baby Danger. I was planning to get a Freddie's Blanket knit before he got here, but I think at this point it will be waiting until we start reading the book....
Joanna has a second beautiful book called Phoebe's Sweater, which I also love.
Excitingly for this week's love it post, you can love it too! I have a copy of Freddie's Blanket to give away to one lucky reader. Just comment below here and let me know why you would like a copy of Freddie's Blanket and I will draw for a winner next Tuesday, 4/12.
(And hey, as long as we are on giveaways, Joanna is doing a giveaway of my book on her blog this week too!)

So many reasons so little time...I love making baby stuff! The day of your giveaway is the day of my doctor's appointment and it would really cheer me up after being sick....and its by cousin and my dad's birthdays!.... and I love to knit, duh!

What a cute idea to include knitting patterns in a children's book! I would like the book, because the patterns are adorable and we are hoping to have our first child soon, and I think it would be a fun thing to share with him or her.
Thanks for letting us know about such a great book!

I'm loving the idea of a book matched with knitting projects to share with little ones. Fabulous. Thank you for sharing.
Patterns are adorable and will go well with my Danger monsters.
After months of trying we haven't been successful with conceiving but are ever hopeful. At the moment I'm living vicariously through you and baby Danger. Thank you for also sharing your thoughts, ideas and talent. Best Wishes.

In 4 months I will have a little baby, and I'm so happy, I can't wait the day when he will be born. Til then I started to knit some little and tiny bootees and they look so cute, i can't believe that he will be so little. After that I plan to knit an entire outfit, a sweater and pans.
