So I was horrified on Halloween when I walked in to Target to grab some last minute candy for Downtown Trick-or-treat and found all of the Target employees out stocking the christmas selection of hand towels and bath stuff. After a boggling and mind-numbing experience picking candy (it shouldn't be that hard) I found that the towels and bath christmas items appeared to be the last of the christmas paraphernalia going out on the shelves. The store was stocked with everything christmas: dishes, cards, trees, ornaments, lights, wrap. Wow. I know we are close, I know it is retailers' best season, I know you should be buying those things now so you can use them next month, but honestly it freaked me out. In a big way. Actually, it haunts my dreams now.
Also, fascinating thing that is also a tad late but stil worth mentioning: I have noticed this year it felt like we had a super mild fall here in the Pacific Northwest. The leaves seemed to turn colors mid-october as opposed to mid-september like I remember. But all of that changed this last weekend. I thought it was totally perfect: November 1st hit and that night we had our first big windy rainy storm, and it has stayed pretty windy rainy all week. Love it! I actually adore that sort of weather, the type that makes me happy I am inside with a cup of tea, crafting my heart out. Summer always makes me feel guilty since I am always inside crafting and not out enjoying the weather. Guess it makes sense why I live in Washington, where others might not enjoy the weather like I do!
Alrighty, as this post says, it has begun and I am off to sew 4 custom order bags and a couple others to fill normal orders, and then try and bulk up my stock. Ho!
