Style Saturday: Make This Look

So the conclusion I keep coming to recently is that I just need to make my own clothes. I know, you are thinking, "Crazy pants Rebecca, when the heck are you going to take on another project? You knit, you work, you have an 11 month old, you take care of all of the cooking and house stuff for your family, and you have 2 very needy little dogs." I know, but I figure if I just took all the time I seem to spend trying to find clothes that fit/are priced right/are perfect and put it into making a few items for myself I would be a much happier person. 

Well, whether I just dream about it or actually make some clothes, the "Make this Look" feature over at The Sew Weekly is SO inspiring! I thought I would share a couple of my fav's:

I mean, I could do this, right?! They take all the tought out of it, giving you the pattern and the fabric and even the accessories to go with it. I can sew, and if I could order all my supplies online.....I don't know, I should really just do it.

Style Saturday: eShakti

After I posted how much I love the style of Pushing Daisies  Happytobepatters contacted me to let me know about the awesomeness that is eshakti.com. Have you heard of it? 

Not only do they have a great selection of really classic styles and a huge selection of sizes all at resonable prices, but they will customize anything for like 7 bucks. Awesome, right? I had heard of the site and stalked it for awhile, but after the recommendation from Happytobepatters I went ahead and placed an order for a couple tops. Not only is the selection, etc, great but apparently my order got to me slower than they like so they refunded me 5 bucks. Without me even contacting them (since I didn't realize they were delayed getting to me). Man I love excellent customer service.

They came this week and are awesome! Excellent quality, lovely colors. I am going to return one because I don't like how it looks (me, not the top) and when I dug through the return info I found that if you return an item they will give you an additional 20% from your purchase price free if you get your refund as a credit towards the site. Does that make sense? If the item you are returning is $50 but you take your refund as a gift certificate for them you get $60 to spend. Love it!

Style Saturday: Pushing Daisies Style

Have you ever seen Pushing Daisies? Man oh man I love that show. I have been re-watching it the last couple weeks and I forgot how much I love, love, love the clothes on this show! Here's some sample shots:

Love it! So bright and colorful. I am finding it very inspiring for my own wardrobe that I am in the mood to completely overhaul. If you haven't seen the show you should, it wont disappoint! 

Style Saturday: Closet SOS

My closet has been driving me nuts this week. N.U.T.S nuts. We live in an old house so closet/storage space is at a premium and my closet is really more of a hole under the stairs. It is just a disaster, full of things that I don't wear or are too big which then block me from seeing the things I actually want to wear.  Disaster I tells ya.

So in true Style Saturday spirit I am going to clean it out this evening. After the success of my baby sleepy bag (which I managed to make this morning, not Tuesday) I am inspired to sew some pencil skirts in various colors and some other things, knit more sweaters, and fill my closet with things I actually love to wear. But, clean out is the first step since I need space! Hmmm, know any good closet organizing tools and tips? Especially for tiny closets?

Style Saturday: Legwarmers in Action

I love Mohop shoes, have you ever seen them? I have been lusting after them since they came out in 2005. Every year I say, "This is the summer! I am going to order a pair of Mohop's this year." And every year I don't for whatever reason. So, I was pleased as punch as I was making my annual visit to the Mohop website this week and saw in the gallery some legwarmers being rocked with the awesome shoes:

Love it! I don't see legwarmers in action very often and these are great. What do you think, with my recent legwarmer obsessions is this a sign from the universe that I need to order these shoes finally?
