So, I haven't gotten a single BFB question yet.....do you guys really not have any?
I am going to do an in-depth on picking up the wings tomorrow. Other than that, I will do the BFB KAL sporadically as I get questions. Work for every one?

Hey guys! First of all, for those of you not in the "know," BFB is Blue-Footed Booby. Got it?
Ready for a booby knit along? Good. I started to write this post, and maybe it is because I am tired, but I am feeling like I want to check in and find out what you guys want help with before I start explaining.
But, I do want to at least get you started today, so....If you are knitting Bob in pieces and stitching him together at the end, refer to my Basil, and Terence KAL's. And be sure to check out my FAQ's page too. I think everything is covered in there, but if it is not, leave me a comment here with your questions and I will cover them as I go!
If you are knitting him in one piece, you will probably want to check out those KAL's and the FAQ's too, since most of your questions should be answered there. Would you guys leave a comment below here as well letting me know what parts you want covered? Just be sure when you leave a comment to let me know if you are knitting in one piece, or separately and sewing together at the end.
Ok, that's what I have got for today. I know, sort of sorry start, right?
How about a little update though? I know I have pretty much dissappeared and have been hard to get a hold of the last couple months. So here's the skinny.....Mr Danger lost his job back in June, which means he has been home a lot. He went from working like 60-70 hours a week, to home 24/7. Big switch! He has been helping out by answering my emails and watching the Peanut so I can work on this book (#3!) I am writing and booby releasing and what-have-you. But, when he is here all the time I find it hard to get a minute away from both baby and hubby to get a blog post in. Hence the silence on the blog-front.
But, it is all for the good! He got offered an awesome job a couple weeks ago, which he started today. This awesome job means we have to move to the Seattle area, though.......and since we had 2 weeks notice, and did I mention I am working on a book, there was no way the whole family was moving by today. So. Mr Danger is down in Seattle now and Peanut and I are staying in Bellingham and moving down around October 1st (depening on when we find a place to live).
So all I have got to say is Phew! It has been kinda a wild ride around here. And since my book is due November 5th to turn in to the publisher and Mr Danger is only home on weekends until we move, it is probably only going to get more wild. Which is why I am tired tonight and having a hard time thinking of the best thing to instruct you on for the KAL.
But, we are moving to the Seattle area! Anyone know any good knit groups down there? (For those of you wondering it is about an hour and a half to two hour drive from where we live now)
Ok, that's all I've got. Now I am going to go get as much book knitting in as I can while Peanut is sleeping, since I don't get too much done while he is awake!

Meet the second installment in my you-asked-for-it-you-got-it series of patterns! Bob the Blue-Footed Booby. Huzzah!
I know, right? Yes, just like Jerry the Monkey, you guys in the Danger Crafts Group on Ravelry asked for a Blue-Footed Booby named Bob, so here he is! And seriously, I had the BEST time knitting this. I kept telling Mr Danger, "Oh! Gotta go work on my Booby honey!" It does not get old. If anything, it gets funnier every time you say it. Hrmmm, could this be why you guys asked for a Booby?
But less on the Booby talk....I hope you guys love him like I do! I came up with this cool concept to hold 2 strands of yarn together throughout so that you could be sure to get that awesome mottled coloring that Booby's have on their head. I am really, truly pleased with how it came out, too.
AND, this pattern has the awesome new feature of being able to be knit in one piece! I hear all of you who hate sewing the limbs on, so on this pattern I wrote it so you can either knit everything separately, or you can pick up the beak, wings, and legs. Cool, huh? I think you will love it. But, because it is a bit tricky, I am going to do a KAL on here starting on Monday (8/27) to give you a little more in-depth look at how to do some of the techniques in this pattern.
There you go! Bob is on sale for $4 for the first month and is available on my website, etsy shop, or Ravelry. I also have a yarn bundle on my website and in my etsy shop if you want to make the amazingly huge, squishy, loveable, cuddleable, huggable, perfect giant Booby in Lorna's Laces shown in the pattern.
Go forth and create, Booby Knitters!

I am so excited about this month's giveaway! I bought this awesome little bag from A Needle Runs Through It on etsy right before I headed to Tennessee a couple months ago. I am in love with this thing, and it seems to keep ending up in pictures on Instagram.
Well, after I ordered it, Maria-- maker of awesome skully knitting bag-- said she would be up for doing a giveaway, so I of course jumped at the chance! I have this awesome small boxy monster knitting bag (it says Monsters on it!), plus cool triangle bag with teeny tiny socks on it, to give away to one of you guys!
To get entered, just hop on over to Maria shop, A Needle Runs Through It, and come back here and leave a comment about which bag there is your favorite. I will draw a winner using random.org's random number generator next Wednesday, August 22nd, so be sure to get entered by then.
Maria also sent me a tiny triangle bag, which is just perfect. Mine is filled with stitch markers, a tapestry needle, and a pair of folding scissors, and is now a must-take item when I go knit at Starbucks with the girls. I absolutely love it, thanks Maria!
Personally I am eyeing this amazing robot fabric in the large boxy bag size.....but since I ordered my first pair of Signature Needles today, I am probably cut off from knitting shopping for a while.
Good luck every one! If you don't win this bag, I really recommend ordering one of her bags. It is awesome for socks or other small projects, and really perfect for monster and toy knitting.

I was so excited this week to see that all the pictures are out and up on Ravelry and Amazon for my second book, Knit A Monster Nursery! This was such a huge, amazing project for me and I am so excited to get to start sharing it with you all. It doesn't come out until November 9th, but I am starting to get very excited about it!
Yup, that's Presley on the cover! What a proud Mama I am of my little model. He has pictures all throughout the book. Love it!
This book is so super special to me, it is filled with all the projects I designed and made for Presley's room. It is full of blankets, hats, booties, sweaters, and toys, all with a monster theme. I am so excited about it since it is different than the just monster patterns I have done in the past, though there are still plenty of monster patterns in here as well. I am also super excited because after having a baby boy, I realized that there is a deficinency of awesome baby boy knitting patterns out there. I made sure all the projects in this book would be perfect for boys and girls. I am excited and really loving to hear the great feedback from every one already. If you want to check out most of the patterns in the book, you can hop on Ravelry, or click the "See All Product Images" link on Amazon .
I have had a flood of questions since the pictures went up, so I wanted to answer a few things to clear everything up:
Is Knit A Monster Nursery actually $1166.00, like it is listed on Amazon?
No. There was a typo and the price on Amazon went in as $2012 (the year). The book is actually $22.99. It should be corrected soon on Amazon, a problem ticket has been filed but it has not been fixed as of me typing this. If you want to pre-order it, you can do so now and they will not charge you until the book ships and will give you the lowest price between now and then. Or, Knit Picks has it for the correct price and will notify you when it is available. OR, I will have pre-orders available through my etsy shop and website right around September 15th (about 2 months before it releases).
Where can I buy Knit A Monster Nursery?
You can pre-order it now through the channels I mentioned above, or you can find it at your local yarn shop or library after it releases in November.
Will Knit A Monster Nursery be available as a digital download?
Yes, the ebook version will be available through Martingale after it releases November 9th.
Can I get the patterns from the book before it is released?
No. All patterns will be available after November 9th when the book is released.
Can you let me know the yardages needed for a project in the book now?
Yes. All the yardages and other necessary details are on the Ravelry project pages now.
So you are sure Knit A Monster Nursery is not $1166?
I am positive. BUT, if anyone does want to pay me that much, I will come hand-deliver a copy in person to you! Just email me and we will set it up.
I will keep adding to this post as I get more questions, too!
So excited! Now you all just have to be patient for 3 more months =).

Hey guys! I know, long blog silence, right?
I just wanted to get a quick post up to give you this link to sign up for the Tempted Yarn Club! I will be desiging one of the patterns this time (yeah!), along with some other amazing designers.
Hope you are having a weekend full of knitting! I am, even though it is in the 80's here.
