Mr Danger sent me to this yesterday and it is so fabulous I have to share. Since I know knitting/crafting and coffee go hand in hand I am sure you all will love this like I do! Sadly enough I think this man, yes you Mr Danger, lives in my house. Thank goodness we have an open kitchen with no doors to lock!

Packing Up For The Oscars

I am getting my knitting bag all packed up since Mr Danger and I will be heading over to watch the Oscars tonight with Ms. Tootsie, and of course Mr. Tootsie (who apparently does not like the idea of being called Mr. Tootsie). I of course need a large bag to pack everything since it will be containing 2 clutches worth of knitting and a bunch more yarn on top of that. No, I apparently don't travel lightly, at least not when knitting is concerned! I am feeling ambitious and have 3+ projects in there. Not only am I sick, apparently I am delusional thinking I can get 3 projects finished in an evening.

It has been a slow, sort of overcast Sunday here in the Pacific Northwest. I have been getting organized for my upcoming knitting patterns, watching movies on Netflix, and of course knitting. I am finally feeling slightly better: I didn't need to take a nap after taking a shower, lets just say that! Mr Danger changed shifts at work today and is now working 5 eight hour days instead of 4 tens. That means he gets off work at 4:45 instead of 7:30. I think we are both very excited about that.

Alrighty, I must got look in my closet for dress of clothes for tonight since I have been told everyone else is dressing up. I told Ms. Tootsie that pj's are dressed up for me this week....

The Danger Crafts Family Thus Far

I took this picture and I am so proud of myself for starting out the Danger Crafts Knitting Pattern Family so cute-ly thus far:

These guys are all knit on the same size needles so you can see the wide range of shapes and sizes. I think it is so fun to see all of them together. I have a big basket of all my samples in my office and it makes me smile every time I see them.

Today is a very mellow day, I am STILL super sick, this is day 6 and I am very frustrated. But, I am loving the Netflix watch instantly feature and am watching fun campy movies from the 50's and 60's while work on some new patterns. The campy movies of the 50's and 60's are my favorites, I love technicolor. I think I dream in technicolor and I wish all life was as bright and brilliant and over-the-top. And I wish that people would just randomly break out in song and dance in my everyday life. But that's another story.......

I have yet another pattern up in the Danger Crafts Etsy Shop today (or last night, technically). Meet Beatrice and Bernard the Inseparable Bunny and Bear:

Who can resist those cutie bunny tails? Also, I signed up as a designer on Ravelry, you can find me as rebeccadanger there and all my patterns thus far are up so you can easily post projects. I think I will be signing up to do sales through there in the next couple days, which is quite exciting.

In other news, this darn chest cold has knocked me out and I think I am feeling worse, not better yet. I find this very unfair because I have had it since Monday and it is now friday and colds are only suppose to last three days. According to me.

Good thing work generally includes sitting on my butt and knitting while watching movies. Good thing even on non sick days.

Alrighty, off to wield a 60mm spinning blade of death, aka a rotary cutter, with a spinny head. Now that is the best idea ever!!

Hermans!

Julie emailed me pictures of some of her finished Hermans and I wanted to share them because they came out so cute!

 

I love how the yarn self-striped and it almost looks like some of them are wearing pants. I must say I am a sucker for any sort of creature that is wearing pants. That, and anything with a smile on it. Mr. Danger showed me some game on the internet the other day that had shapes you stacked and all the shapes had faces on them. I of course looked at him and said, "What? Are you assuming I would like this because they all have faces on them? I don't immediately love everything with a face on it you know....but it is really, really cute. Ahem." 

You can find Julie on Ravelry as jbyrd53 where she has a bunch of her own patterns you might like to check out. She is making more Hermans for her kids and her daughter's class where the students can buy things in their store with money they earn in class. So cool!

Thanks for sharing Julie! I would love to see anyone else's finished Hermans and Maddoxs too!

Sorry for the limited posts this week, I came down with some terrible Man Cold (thanks Morgan!) on Monday and have not been feeling very good this week. That being said, I will have a new pattern in the etsy shop tomorrow. Stay tuned for more knitting fun!

Happy Birthday Miss Lu Lu!

Happy V-day to all and a big happy birthday to my "puppy!" Lucy turned 2 years old today.

We are very glad she has grown into her head a bit more in the last couple years, but now her tongue wont stay in her mouth. Oh well.

She has brought us so much joy over the last 2 years and we are so thankful to have her in our lives.

So I know I said there would be sneak peaks yesterday, but I didn't get sitting down at the computer for a blog post until after midnight, so technically it would have been today, and then there would have been two posts in one day, and blah. So, instead, available for sale in the Danger Crafts Etsy shop right now, I give you my newest pattern:

Productive Day

Phew! The birthday celebrations are done and they were super fun! Mr Danger and I went down south shopping on Monday (my actual b'day) and I got some fun new clothes and a great new pair of green (my favorite color) shoes. Then we went to the new B'ham restaurant Scotty Browns for dinner with my dad and step-mom where we all fell in love with their yams fries. Seriously, if you are in Bellingham go to Scotty Browns now if only for a glass of wine and some yam fries. Yummy! Tuesday we went down to Mr Danger's family and spent a pleasant evening there. I can't think of a better way to spend a birthday, thank you family!

So today I am back, hard at work. Although, it is rather difficult for me to consider knitting work. I am working on pattern number two which I just finished the last sample for and now I just have to put it all together on the computer tomorrow. I plan to give you all a sneak peak here on the blog Thursday and then have it up in my various shops on Friday. Very exciting, this pattern is totally, ridiculously cute! I made a version that is the biggest knitted creature I have made yet: over 15" tall and the perfect size and girth for big hugs. I am totally in love.

Alrighty, off to sew on a batch of eyes! They are all pinned down so far which works great, but I get really tired of handing people things and saying, "Look, this is my latest and greatest creation, didn't it come out cute? Oh, but watch out! It still has pins in it." Completely annoying, completely avoidable.

Let Them Eat Cake

I am currently in the car on the way south for a fun day out. Today is my birthday and Mr Danger and I are planning to have one great day!

Eat some cake sometime today to celebrate with me!
