I don't know about anyone else but we had a crazies day in the shop yesterday. Aside from the usual, local "downtown color," you know, the crazy old (or not) men and women who come around and bother all the local business owners, we had several bona-fide wackos in as well. I mean absolutely bizarre folks, the type that all of a sudden they have been in the shop talking at you for 25 minutes and you wonder how you are going to get them out the door without inciting a crazy lash-out episode. Or that are talking to you and you are keeping your distance because you don't know if they are going to strike out at or try to grab you at any moment. Yeah, that was yesterday.
So I left the shop as soon as we closed at 6pm yesterday hoping for a better day today, assuming there couldn't possibly be 2 crazies days in a row. Well, I just took the sandwich boards out and as I was coming back up the hill to the shop a young man crossed the street in front of me with a HUGE kitchen knife in its clear plastic cover and nothing else. Not in a bag or concealed or anything, just in his hand plain as day. This sucker was gargantuan too, we're talking big 'ol 9-12" blade, big cutting knife you use in your kitchen. Yikes, I hope the rest of the day is better and he stays on the other side of the street....
